You may have seen on social media about the latest technology city called The Line to be built in Saudi Arabia, which attracted worldwide attention last week. This is about The Line, the city of the future.
Last year, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, revealed The Line technology city to the world for the first time. He also stated that the city will be built in a straight line without any highways and powered by renewable energy. Also, this city is created with a natural environment with a favorable climate for life throughout the year with mountains, coastal areas, and deserts.
After that, last week, the Saudi government published some photos of what can be expected after the construction of this new technology city. This city has a width of 200 meters and a height of 500 meters and a length of 170 kilometers. It will consist of two mirrored parallel buildings running along a coastal screen and will be able to accommodate approximately 9 million residents at the end of construction.
As this has been planned, the residents can get all the facilities needed in the city by walking for 05 minutes. Also, it is the hope of the creators of this city to have a high-speed train service that can go from one end of the city to the other in 20 minutes.
The Line is a Neom mega-city project worth about 500 billion dollars and it is scheduled to be built in Tabuk province. Under the first phase, an amount of 14 kilometers is to be completed in the year 2030 and the project is proposed to be completed by the year 2045.
